1. The agreement
These terms are between you and WhoChat Live — who we are and how the service pays for itself is set out separately. Opening a match, registering, or buying coins means you accept them. If you do not, the correct response is not to use the service.
Two other pages form part of this agreement and are worth the same as the text here: the community guidelines, which say what behaviour is allowed on camera, and the privacy policy, which says what happens to your data.
2. Who may use this
You must be 18 or older. Not the age of majority where you live: 18, everywhere, as a floor. If the age of majority where you're is higher than 18, that higher number applies to you instead.
You must be using the service for yourself. You may not open it on behalf of someone else, let a minor use your session, or put a person on camera who has not agreed to be there. You may not use it where doing so breaks your local law, and you may not use it if we have already removed you.
3. Free use, coins and payment
Here is the whole arrangement, stated plainly, because a service that's vague about this is being vague on purpose.
- Opening the site and browsing it costs nothing, and does not require an account.
- You get a number of matches for free, and a stretch of call time for free. Those are finite quantities, not a trial period measured in days.
- Past that, video pairing runs on coins, which are bought with money. Your balance goes down as you use the service.
- Ending a call is one tap and carries no separate charge — leaving a call you do not want to be in is not a paid feature. Skipping is different: a skip is the next match starting, so it draws on the same free matches and coins as any other match does.
Coins are a limited licence to use features inside this service. They're not currency, not property, not an investment, and cannot be transferred out, cashed out or exchanged between accounts. Prices and the coin cost of any feature can change; changes apply to purchases made after the change, not retroactively.
Purchases are processed by third-party payment providers and are generally non-refundable, except where refund rights are granted to you by law or where we have said otherwise in writing. If you think a charge is wrong, write to [email protected] before disputing it with your bank. We can usually see what happened, and a chargeback filed first will normally close the account it came from.
Coins attached to an account end when that account ends, including when we close it for breaking these terms. If we close your account for a reason that turns out to be our mistake, say so and we will fix it.
4. Sessions and accounts
You can use the service as a guest, and a guest session is still yours to look after. If you register, the password is your responsibility: pick one you do not use elsewhere, and tell us if you think someone else is in your account.
Give accurate information when you register. One person, one account. Running several to get around free limits or to evade a ban is a breach of these terms in itself.
To close your account, write to [email protected] from the address on the account. Closure is handled by hand, and what survives it's set out in section 8 of the privacy policy.
5. What you may not do
The community guidelines cover on-camera behaviour in detail. These are the terms-level prohibitions, and each one is grounds for immediate removal:
- Involving anyone under 18 in any way, on camera or off. This is the line with no warnings attached to it. See the child safety standards.
- Putting a person on camera who has not agreed to be on camera.
- Recording, screenshotting, or redistributing the other person without their agreement.
- Threats, harassment, stalking, or targeting someone after they have left a call.
- Nudity, sexual acts, or exposed intimate body parts on camera. This is not an adult platform and never has been. See section 5 of the community guidelines for where the line sits.
- Anything that's illegal where you're or where the person you're matched with is.
- Fraud, impersonation, phishing, or steering people to payment scams.
- Feeding the camera a pre-recorded video, a still image, or another person's stream, including running automated accounts.
- Scraping, reverse engineering, hammering the service with automated requests, or interfering with how it runs for other people.
- Using the service to advertise, recruit, or drive traffic somewhere else.
6. Your content
What you post stays yours. You give us the permission we need to run the service with it: to host it, store it, display it to the people it's meant for, resize and re-encode it so it loads, and keep the backups that any real system keeps. That permission is limited to operating the service and ends when the content comes down, apart from copies already in backups or retained as moderation evidence.
You're responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it. If you believe something on this service infringes your copyright, the takedown route is on the copyright page.
7. Enforcement
We can remove content, end a call, suspend a session, and close an account. For serious breaches we do it immediately and without warning, because a warning before removing somebody who is doing one of the things in section 5 is a warning to the wrong person.
We use reports from other users and automated safety checks (including the camera frame checks described in section 3 of the privacy policy) to decide. If you think a decision about your account was wrong, reply to it in writing and a person will look again.
8. Availability
The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available continuously, that every match will connect, that you will be paired with anyone in particular, or that any particular feature will still exist next month.
Who you get matched with is not curated by us and not a representation about them. Everyone on the other side of the camera is a stranger, with everything that implies.
9. Third parties
Parts of the service depend on outside providers: the real-time video layer, payment processing, hosting, analytics. Their own terms and policies govern what they do, and an outage on their side can become an outage on ours.
Links out of this site are not endorsements, and what happens on the other end of them is not ours to control.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent the law where you live allows: we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit or lost data, or for what another user says or does to you. Where liability cannot be excluded, it's limited to what you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.
Nothing here removes rights you have that cannot be removed by an agreement. Consumer protection law in your country outranks this paragraph, and is meant to.
11. Disputes
Start by writing to [email protected] and describing the problem. Most complaints are a misunderstanding about coins or a moderation decision, and both are faster to fix directly than through any formal process.
If a court or authority finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a term on one occasion does not waive it for the next.
12. Ending this
You can end this agreement any time by stopping and, if you registered, asking us to close the account. We can end it if you break these terms, or if we stop operating the service.
Sections that are meant to survive the end do survive it: content permissions already exercised, liability limits, and the retention rules in the privacy policy.
13. Changes
These terms change when the service changes. The date at the top of this page moves with them, and material changes are announced in the product, not slipped in. Continuing to use the service after a change means the new version applies to you.
